Social
Work Internship
Our agency takes an active
role in community activities to encourage
community relations, honor outstanding
citizens, recognize students for academic
achievement, promote family involvement,
and provide outreach family support.
Under
the direction of Project LINK's executive
director:
-
interns work in collaboration
with LINK's family specialists and
various 'system of care' agencies,
-
attend seminars and
mix with graduate and postdoctoral
constituents.
-
social work staff from
the Hillsborough County's Department
of Social Work provide additional
leadership and mentoring.
Students work thirty-two
hours a week for twelve weeks. Working
with experienced social workers, para-professionals
and school administrators, they plan and
conduct studies, gaining experience in
daily research and learning to work independently
as well as participate in a team effort.
This program is in collaboration
with the University of South Florida's
Florida Mental Health Institute to provide
students an opportunity to gain valuable
experience in the social work industry.
