The LINKids Club is a safety awareness program operated and governed by kids during the after-school program.
Program activities include prevention methods of cyber bullying; school bullying; child abduction prevention; playground, bike, fire, and water safety.
LINKids Club program also consist of interactive workshops and educational materials for students in the JUST Elementary after-school program.
Strategies/Activities:
Activities developed for this program are administered by Hillsborough County Public School Instructors and incorporated from materials acquired by several existing programs that have experienced successful outcomes from safety activities that includes but not limited to storytelling, puppetry, songs, DVDs and interactive games.
LINKids Vote
The ‘LINKids Vote’ is another component of the LINKids Club program thats designed to educate and motivate youth to vote in the future as adults. The curriculum is comprehensive and seeks to develop information-gathering skills in students to aid in critical decision-making, including activities on how to register to vote, early voting, absentee voting, historical voting issues, election process, understanding issues, and identifying leadership characteristics in candidates.
